Mercier, who has torn up the poker circuit to the tune of $5.3 million in earnings since becoming a pro in 2008, added another $246,600 in prize money with the historic win, joining Selbest as the only other player with  [ Read More ]

Victor Ramdin came back to win the The Big Event at the Bicycle Casino and $500,000 in Los Angeles Thursday. The veteran Team PokerStars Pro held the chip lead for most of the event, slipping from the top spot as the final eight was set. But Ramdin persevered through the final table and despite entering heads-up with 2005 World Series Main Event champion Joe Hachem facing a defecit, came back to win his first major title since the 2006 WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic. First he doubled up heads-up to take the lead, flopping a straight against Hachem’s top pair and  [ Read More ]

Victor Ramdin appears to be running away with the The Big Event at the Bicycle Casino after a huge Day 2 Monday. As a field of 221 Day 1 survivors was pared down to around 70, Ramdin built a stack of over one million chips, almost twice the size of anyone close to him. When Day 3 begins Tuesday in Los Angeles, names like Chris DeMaci, Daniel Negreanu, Pat Pezzin, Ryan Hughes, and Alex Kamberis will all be in the top ten, but still remain hundreds of thousands of chips behind Ramdin. The 56-player money bubble will likely burst on  [ Read More ]

Carlo Hassan wins PPOC II!

Congratulations Carlo, how are you feeling about the win? I’ve just about recovered! I’m trying to do some research and find out if it’s the longest tournament without a proper break. It went on for 14 hours 25 minutes with just those 5 minute breaks every hour! How did you qualify? I just bought in. I wasn’t able to enter the other PPOC events but I’m a regular PokerPlayer reader. What was your tournament record like prior to this? I’m a winning tournament player on a couple of sites. I won the Sky Poker Primo, I’ve won a couple of  [ Read More ]
